Theatrical Delights, Inc.

A non-profit organization

TD is a Christian summer youth drama team and training center for youth ages 14-20. Our stage plays are Bible stories in modern day flava, written in comedy format. Our program teaches youth with hands-on experience, and the shows give them a chance to display what they’ve learned in front of a live audience. We also assist youth and adults who need to earn volunteer and/or community service hours.

Mission

To provide an opportunity for young people to use their gift/talent within our production and gain job experience in the process.

Mission scripture

Prov 18:16:  “A man’s gift maketh room for him and brings him before great men.”

TD has two mottos

1) “Where the Youth Do It All”- Everything involved in running the business is done by the youth (with supervision).

2) “We Bring Out the Best in Youth”- We strategically build confidence with lots of encouragement, causing youth to discover skills and talent within themselves.

COMMUNITY IMPACT 

What youth experienced during the summer

  • Autistic youth were given a summer job
  • Shy youth blossomed and performed in front of a live audience
  • 14 – 15 year olds learned entry level job skills
  • Learned a Bible story and how it applies to their everyday life
  • Gained job experience they can include on their resume
